We’re just a few weeks away from completing construction and clean up at Mirada Lagoon! Our team has been working hard to bring you an enhanced experience, and we’re happy to share that tile work is nearly complete, the water cleaning process is almost done, and we will begin to refill the water this week. The final touches are coming together, and we can’t wait to enjoy the Lagoon with you again soon.
Additional Updates
We are excited to share an update on Mirada Lagoon’s new water obstacle course coming soon. This course will include several elements that are brand new to Mirada Lagoon! This water obstacle course will be the biggest, tallest and longest of all the water obstacle courses across MetroLagoons locations. The most exciting structure is the new slide and climbing wall combo, which is almost twice the height of the old water obstacle course! The new slide feature is a massive new piece that includes a 19-foot slide with a kickout exit, climbing wall, two spots for jumping into the Lagoon from 15 feet high and more.
Stay tuned for our official water opening announcement, along with some fun giveaways to celebrate welcoming you back.
Thank you for your patience and excitement—we’re almost there!
Water Quality Update
Our dedicated team is working hard each day to restore water clarity and quality. We are pleased to report steady progress. Cleanup is nearly complete, and once the tile project in Cabana Cove is finished, we will begin refilling the water. Our top priority is ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience. We are committed to reopening the water as soon as possible and expect to reopen by mid-March.
Cabana Cove Enhancement Project Update
Exciting progress continues at the Cabana Cove enhancement project moves full speed ahead. The tile crew is actively installing wall, floor, and seat wall tiles, making significant strides. Thanks to favorable weather, the project remains on schedule, and to keep things moving efficiently, the team is now working through weekends. We know you’re eager to see the final result and appreciate your patience.
Additional Enhancements Around Mirada Lagoon
Our Water Quality team is also making improvements throughout the Lagoon. Enhancements to the pool surfacing around Gasparilla Island and Sandbar are underway, and preparations have begun to repaint the slide at the Splash Zone Playground.
Stay Tuned for More Updates
Our team is actively working on several exciting additions, including a brand-new LED screen for The Hub, and new sunshades and upgraded seating at the Sandbar. We are also excited to share that we will soon be receiving a brand new, bigger than ever, obstacle course. We look forward to sharing more updates on these projects soon.

While we anticipate some potential weather impacts this week, we’re excited to share that all tile materials for the pool have officially arrived onsite. Efforts to prepare the pool surface for tiling and painting are actively underway, and we’re making great progress. Tiling offers a more durable surface and makes it easier to clean, enhancing your Lagoon experience now and in the future. Post-Hurricane Milton sediment cleanup efforts also continue as planned.
Thank you for your continued support and patience as we work hard to improve Mirada Lagoon. We look forward to seeing you this week for some exciting events:
We are also looking forward to bringing you a February packed with fun events, including a Lagoonside Market with over 30 vendors! Check out the calendar here and be on the lookout for email and text updates.
With the water drained, work on the Cabana Cove pool is officially underway! While our contractor prepares the pool surface for tiling, our team continues to focus on sediment removal, a task made easier with the reduced water volume.
This week, we have an exciting lineup of events:

We have deployed additional measures and methods to remove the sediment. This process has been labor-intensive, and we regret that it has taken longer than anticipated to fully resolve the issue.
To expedite progress, we will be draining additional water from the lagoon to improve the efficiency of our removal efforts. While this will result in an extended closure, we are thrilled to announce several exciting improvements that will enhance your lagoon experience upon its reopening:

Hurricane Milton caused significant damage to Mirada Lagoon; and, while emergency repair and cleanup efforts are making progress, the water and activities remain temporarily closed. We’re using this time to enhance the Lagoon, including tiling the Cabana Cove pool and installing a new screen at The Hub while continuing with weekly events with select food trucks. View our upcoming events at Mirada Lagoon.
We’ll provide updates on our progress and invite Resident Members to enjoy your free benefits at Epperson Lagoon during this closure.
We understand the inconvenience this emergency has caused and want to assure you that our teams and contractors are working diligently to resolve the issue as quickly as possible in order to reopen all water activities. While the Club Plan allows for a full emergency closure, we are pleased to offer select opening days so that you can continue enjoying the non-water activities and amenities at the lagoon. These include weekly events and entertainment, providing opportunities to make the most of your membership during this time. In line with the Club Plan, this emergency closure and limited opening will not affect your Club Plan fee schedule.
